The Strategic Objective

(Vision)

The Therapy Institute will be considered a great company by patients, referral sources, peers, the business community and its associates. Greatness will be built upon exceptional customer service, loyalty of patients and referral sources, and excellent outcomes in the enjoyable atmosphere generated for and by everyone.

Patients will rave about the level of treatment and service received and report this back to their referring physician/dentist. This will generate a high percentage of repeat patients who are highly satisfied with their experience. Our primary way of marketing is by word of mouth when these highly satisfied patients return to their physicians, dentists, community, schools and homes. We will keep contact with these patients when they leave this course of physical therapy and our intent will be to become their lifetime musculoskeletal provider. We will develop a very wide referral base. Developing relationships with referring physicians/dentists and other providers is another primary way of marketing for us. Community involvement will be important in both financial support as well as hours of participation for continuing visibility.

An extremely high level of clinical expertise will be offered to all patients. Multiple staff members will be involved in teaching at the university and/or continuing educational level. As ongoing learning and further development of clinical expertise is critical, continuing education will be required. All clinical staff will have an advanced board certification. The Therapy Institute will support this financially by paying for the examinations required for advanced board certification. We will continue to redefine physical therapy as a profession that continues to mature to become a learned, doctoral entry level profession.

Treatment will be provided primarily on a one-on-one basis. An advanced clinical staff will be interested in seeking interaction with other associates about patient treatment and progression. Opportunities will be present to ask for input in treating a patient or exchanging challenging patients to seek input from other associates. There will be primarily physical therapists treating the patients. P.T aides/technicians will not be utilized. The physical therapist assistant will be used on a selective basis in close conjunction with the physical therapist.

Statistical management and bench marking are very important to make objective decisions and will be continually utilized to grow the business. Profitability is important but not a primary decision-making factor. A net profit level of 40% will be expected. A patient arrival rate of 93% will be demonstrated on a regular basis. Continued emphasis will be placed on developing efficiency and timeliness regarding billing procedures. Associates should share in the profits and are an important part of the ongoing innovation and further development of the practice. We continue to redefine the way a physical therapy office does business and always look to improve beyond our current state. The atmosphere at The Therapy Institute will be warm, energetic, caring, and listening and a place where patients look forward to attending treatment due to the enjoyable atmosphere. We will continue to learn by patient feedback especially that gained through the patient survey and outcomes data. Constructive criticism must and will be acted on to further improve our high level of customer satisfaction. The work environment at The Therapy Institute is rewarding and fosters individual professional and personal growth and most importantly maintains an enjoyable atmosphere.

We will ensure that the principles on which this business is based are long-lasting. The Therapy Institute will continue to contribute to the advancement of the physical therapy profession. Our practice will always be owned and controlled by physical therapists. We will be a business that develops entrepreneurs who can then take this vision beyond our imagination.
